My latest digital painting is a semi-abstract of a long, dream-like corridor showing a mysterious figure loitering far away at the end, while 2 young girls take time out to study.

The corridor is located in the Underground Gallery at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. My original image was captured with a Nikon D90 camera fitted with a Nikon VR 18-200mm zoom at a focal length of 18mm.

The image size is 2846 x 4277px at a resolution of 300dpi.

I've had a long-lasting interest in photography since the 1970's. But more recently, since the arrival of digital SLRs, my focus (pun intended) has changed direction into post processing, particularly in the use of HDR and filter techniques to create something quite different and more interpretive than my starting images. I use digital filters in very much the same way as conventional artists use brushes, knives and palettes.
