Footpath Along Lathkill Dale

A walk down Lathkill Dale is a beautiful experience any time of year, watching the ducks diving and the brown trout swimming. The river Lathkill appears from it’s underground route just before Over Haddon, years of lead mining in the area has been responsible for changes to the water table and the flow of the river.

This image was captured on the 13th June 2012 and created from 3 separate exposures then post processed with Photoshop CS5.

I've had a long-lasting interest in photography since the 1970's. But more recently, since the arrival of digital SLRs, my focus (pun intended) has changed direction into post processing, particularly in the use of HDR and filter techniques to create something quite different and more interpretive than my starting images. I use digital filters in very much the same way as conventional artists use brushes, knives and palettes.
